I am in need of a bench seat for my 1950 Ford F-3. Where can I get the original? If that's not possible, what seats will fit? It seems that the reupostry kits are available, but not the seat itself.

Time to hit the junkyards, too bad you are too far as a local junkyard has a few of those.

I had an S-10 Bench seat for my '48 F-1 Panel Truck and it was a tad narrow. Got one from a mid '90s Dodge Dakota and it fits just right, a little wider than the S-10. We were out junk yard crawling on Thursday and I picked up another Dakota seat for a buddy redoing his '50 F-1 pickup. It's in real nice shape and got it for $20. Such a deal.

A friend of mine has the back seat from a newer model Chevy Extended Cap PU.
All you have to do is take the factory brakets off and use a bolt for a hinge.

One reason I like the Dakota seat is it doesn't give you the overstuffed living room couch look.

  9. 3rd seats out of Chevy Astro and GMC Safari vans work real well; the seat back folds flat onto the seat bottom too, so you can access the behind the seat area. They have a thin backrest, so you can push em towards the back of the cab for some legroom.
