    wrecking crew,

    Ok, what gives here. Dig this...my trim is set to ride just off the lower edge of the front fender seam. All the pics I've found of restorations, factory promo pics, show the trim riding up on the shelf of that front fender seam. Makes sense. However, mine is below that seam. I've check the backside of the fender for possible retro fit work, perhaps indicating that the trim was lowered later in life, but no dice. Can find any signs of trim holes up there.

    Anyone else seen this setup? inquiring minds wanna know.

  2. Maybe your car rolled off the line on a Friday night or worse yet a Monday morning.

    ...I have some 49 Dodge front fenders and the trim rides above that joint.
    ...does the door trim line up with your fender trim?

    No door trim on this car.

    Should be set up like this car. Notice no door trim here either.

    ...oh, I see, I don't have the whole car, just the fenders to go by.

    Is this trim lower than the one above? it looks like it is. Maybe yours is supposed to match up to a piece of door trim. The no door trim models maybe are higher?

    yeah...see, that car has the trim just below the seam...ok..I'll keep figuring what I want to do..I like the trim, don't like the ledge it creates. I'm on the fence of keeping the trim, so I may either:

    a)move the trim up/fill the old holes;
    b)shave the trim/panel flush;
    c)flush the panel and keep the trim low

    guess, I should get the drivetrain in there first and get it on the road, eh? :rolleyes:
