im trying to find out how hard it would be to Split a manifold on a straight 6 in a 1953 chevy 210 or would it be better to Split the pipe under the car here are some pics of what im looking to do
Hey, I have split soo many of those things its not funny. Its not hard to do at all. If you can braze with br***, you can do it. What you do is the following. You need to cut a slit in the manifold between the middle and last/rear ports. In the outside face is easiest. just in the vertical side. use a cutoff wheel in the diegrinder. Slide a piece of metal inside and braze the slit closed. You are just installing the block off plate to seperate the two chambers. I know its not totally seperated but if you make the plate fit well it will be close enough. Then you need to figure out where you want or need the rear outlet to be. I liked to do mine at a 45 to the manifold but that up to you. Check throttle linkage, steering, shifter, ect. Just fab up a short length of tube with a flange welded on. Then braze it over the hole you cut in the manifold. Sounds weird but its really easy if you just take your time and think things through before just wackin and welding.
i dont have the stuff or the know how but i think if i take my time i could do it but i would like to find someone to do it for me if you know any one let me know thanks
