Looks like a 350 Buick. If my thinking is right the engine size is cast in the side of the block.

look at the back of the block where the engine mates to the trans. #'s are there.

350 Buick by looks alone, have one just like it in a 72 skylark. If it runs good, leave it. Plenty of power and it makes people wonder what it is.

  6. +3 on the Buick 350. They have a pretty stout bottom end; Jeep bought them from GM to use in Wagoneers and the like for a couple years before AMC bought the company.

  9. Without taking out a tape measure (Or looking at the numbers) how do you tell a 350 from a 455?

That was a pretty common swap for trucks that had diesals in them.

Look at the back of the block! It is stamped with a 350 or 455!
    If it is a 2bl it is a 350!

yea, thats a buick... right behind the intake, just forward of the bell housing on the block should say either 350, 400, 430 or 455... they're all wide as hell and at a glance can be a ***** to tell apart... specially when they're crusty

Rocket? thats a Ransom Eli kinda thing man
