i have known this car my whole life. my dad used to drive us to elementary school in it. it's evolved through many different iterations, but i just wanted to start a thread to document its progress. i have a cammed .030 over 283 in it now with some fenderwell headers i made, but i'm saving up to rebuild my turbo 194cu.in. six for it. i plan to get it down to bare metal and put metalflake ruby red on the roof. this is before the white walls and the headers.

  10. Thats looking good dude...how did ya slam it like that? I have a 57 sedan delivery that I've owned since 78' and am just getting it back on the road after raising 4 kids.I'm ratroddin it since I like that look these days. I have thought about airride, but looking for low budget ways right now.Love the stance your wagon has,the white whites are also in line for mine...keep the pics coming, very cool to see. Thanks,Jeff

  11. Not to hijack the thread.

    Jeff....thanx for the comments.

I fitted 2" dropped spindles to the front with fresh STOCK front springs....as such the stock front suspension travel is retained so the ride is good.

The rear copped 3" lowering blocks - car is low but not so much that it bounces all over the place.

Kind of a balance if you will...works well.

Ranaro - keep the pic comin dude....

Rat Bastard, I love your wagon! In retrospect, I should have done drop spindles too. I cut quite a few coils(I can't remember exactly) in the the front and removed three leaves in the back. It rides pretty poorly to be honest, especially with more than one person in the car, so I'll need to set up shocks( there are none now) and notch the frame. I have thought about air, but I barely scrape over speed-bumps and driveways so I think I'll leave it on springs.
