It all depends on if you drive with your arm out of the window or not, also, if you have an event sticker on your headlight. Those two things will define how you proceed. I'd suggest that you study up on chains, their colors and strengths, and go from there. The point is, don't follow the crowd. Make you chains YOURS. Your creative side should join hands with the practical applications of chains on tailgates. The sky is the limit.
I don't mind the practical part of a chain, it's easy but the rattle and banging on the metal are something I could do without. Mark, I do think you pic has some great options however.......but would I have to get crowns on all of my teeth as well?
eliminate them use some cabinet closers or seat belt parts nothing will scew up a nice box than a banging chain on a tail gate cica 1925 build, almost anything can be hidden inside box to clean it up
With a hot engine in a pickup, hard acceleration makes tailgate chains fly horizontal off the back. Really made an impression on my young mind. Latches don't do this.
if your use bike chain and hook it up right it does not like to move front to back and is less likly to scratch the pain(and old guy back when i was a kid did it)
I actually like the sound of chains clanking in the back.. reminds me of being a kid and riding in the back of the truck...Opps we can't do that can we... Also, blends with the other rattles, creaks and bangs...
