Well, THAT was a steal. At full bang, $500 would get you about 1.5 carbs and no manifold, no linkage, right?
Jolly good. Me, if I find a swap meet that tasty, nobody hears about it except a small cabal of those nearest and dearest to me. And they know all about swap meet omerta.

    But thanks for the tip

If you were in the market for plastic engines, another guy had a plastic flathead Ford V8 blocks with a set of plastic ARDUN heads and covers to go on it for $450 or so.
I think he took it home.

This "recession" is having an effect on all of us. I went to buy a "TH 350 transmission with a "rebuild kit" off of CraigsList.org; the rebuild kit was a TCI. The price was $75.00, and I did'nt even try to offer him less, even though I know he would have taken it. But, he also had a variety of other new-in-the-box items I wound up buying. When I got home I looked up and totaled the prices from my Summit Racing catalog. I spent a total of $135.00, and the Summit prices came out to $898.50 ,minuse the trans I went to get originally, and it does'nt need a rebuild, it looks like it was already just rebuilt. Going back for 2 pairs of heads tomorrow, for $35.00, and they're factory hi-perf heads, one set came on something called a SBC 302. But, my best deal ever was my Craftsman 230V arc welder, $75.00, and it came with a 50 ft extension cord to carry 230 V, new helmet, gloves, pick hammer, brush, and more rods than I'll probably ever use. And, this was 30+ years ago. It's going to get a lot worse for some, and a lot better for others, in this "hobby/illness/obscession" we all seem to have. Butch/56sedandelivery.

That's a really nice score. Swap meets are the best places to get parts.

You know you need to bring that back. Us Texans don't believe in exporting.
