I have a 350 Pontiac in my 56 F100. It needs a new drivers side engine mount, but I don't know what model the engine is from. Went to the NAPA store and looked though some catalogs but didnt find a match. They had a 1970 Firebird mount, but irt was several inches longer. Check out the pics and see if you can help. The total length is 6 and all bolt holes are 7/16 in dia. The distance between the mounting holes centers is 5-1/8(5-1/2" in photo is wrong). The distance between the saddles is 3-9/16. Thanks, Dave
Hey why don't you check for the similarities with what you have and compare them to a mid seventies (74 to 76) motor mounts. The one pictured looks very similar to the ones on my 75 formula 400.
The mount you are looking for is the "early" style unit, pre-1970. The '70-'74 units are longer and the ones after those are different altogether So look for a motor mount for a '68 GTO and you should be good to go.
Here is a pic of the engine, I did a serial number reference on the engine it's a 1974 block, I looked at some mounts in Ebay and it appears they are 68 to 74 Lemons. Thanks for all the help
That's an A-body mount. The longer mount you mentioned may be the '70 up F body mount, that mount uses a completely different set of holes on the side of the block, the '69 and earlier pontiac blocks dont even have the bosses to mount the second gen F body mounts. So as some of these guys said, ask for a mount for a '68 to '72 tempest, lemans,GTO,as that should be what your looking for, just make sure it's for the 350 or 400 pontiac motors,as the '70 to '72 455 A-body mounts are different too, those are longer like the second gen F-body mounts. And dont bother with the first gen firebird mounts either, those are totally different, those are the same as the "big car" mounts. Hope this helped.
