falcon/corvair...do they have the same 4-lug bolt pattern on wheels and if so, do they also share the same size lug nuts? nevermind on the question if the 4-bolt pattern is the same. the 4-lug wheels i picked up are uni lug. And...about the lug nut size/thread being the same on corvair and falcons...guess I will find out in the morning.
The Falcon pattern is 4 on 4.5" circle. This true for all the 6 cyl Ford cars with 4-bolt wheels and the 4cyl Pinto/Bobcat/Mustang II.
They are the same bolt pattern but like PD says the studs are larger on a Falcon. The Corvair wheels are 13x5.5 and the Falcon probably came with 14's. They may not fit over the drums. Interestingly enough the Corvair had wider rims than the same vintage large Chevys....which were only 5" wide. Start looking at 70's Toyota RWDs, RWD Datsuns and Nissans if you can stomach the modern looks.
oh, hehe to bring some conclusion to this thread. The I6 falcons came with 13's, the v8 with 14's from what I have been told. the falcon has 1/2" studs, the corvair has 7/16" 4 on 4-1/2 (114.3 mm) Acura - Legend '86-'89 Buick - Special '61-'63 Chevrolet Corvair all 4-bolt Chevy II all 4-bolt Sprint '85-'87 Nova ('61-'70) Datsun/Nissan - most models to '89 Dodge Colt '79-'88 Dodge Colt (early) Ford Mustang all '65-'68 4-bolt Falcon, Maverick, Granada all 4-bolt Mazda - 626, RX7 '83-'87 ???? MGA, MGB, MGC Olds - F-85 '61-'63 Plymouth - Arrow, Sapporo '79-'88 SAAB all ??? SAAB - 900 to '87 Toyota - most exc. MR2 and P.U. to '89 Triumph TR 1..6 And lastly...the wheels/tires that I ended up getting for my wifes falcon are 4-lug uni-lug cragars. They are 13" and they make the little I6 170 with 3-speed funner to drive around town.
