    Pretty much a vintage 'thread' ;) indeed, but the coolness still applies.
    And at least a FNG is using the search-function around here. ;) And if one doesn't, he gets ripped another one about there are already a few topics about the subject.
    Tough crowd to please... :rolleyes: :D

    Anyway, Kirk's pics are broken.
    Maybe someone has these saved and can re-upload them?

    I still have saved a couple of other tirepics from Kirk;

    Not vintage, but I love the look of the wide cheater slicks sticking out of the bed on a early mockup of my 1950 F1 project. Getting ready to finish the third engine I'm building for this one, getting closer to driving ;-)

    The General's Original 60's recaps (8.20's). I have them on my Roadster and are currently being mated to 15" x 8.5" Ansen 5 Spoke wheels instead of the Radirs.

  12. i don't have a picture, but i've got a pair m+h whitewall racemaster 710/15's in my garage that were last raced in the early sixties. they were on a friends 34 ford sedan with a 409 in it. ran against the likes of cha cha and her vette at the now defunct milton dragstrip in milton, vt.

  13. I too have always loved the look of a pie crust slick mounted on an old mag wheel. I could mount up an old used up one and just hang it on the wall for decoration! Here's an old Jalopy Journal pic that first lured me to the HAMB......

    Shot this one at GNRS a few years back.............

  15. How late were people running pie crust cheater slicks?
    My avitar was built in the very early '70's, and I'm trying to stay around that period, if I can.
    I know that by the time my car came along, the wrinklewall was in use. Thanks, Mike

    I ran these slicks up until 1988. I bought them in High School in the mid 80's for $30 off of a friend of mine. At the time his father had recently died and he was cleaning out his garage and shed of his father's old car parts. I sold them in 1989 for $40. Last year I stumbled across them on ebay and instantly recognized them. The seller was about 5 miles from my house. I contacted him to see if it was the same person I sold them to. He wasn't. He found them in an old condemned garage and put them up on Ebay. I think they sold on Ebay for $180+\-.

    This thread needs a jump-start!

    Here's the Hurst 30x10x15s I put on my '55:

    I wanted a circa 1964 SoCal street machine look. Car came with its original '63 black CA plates and came out of Long Beach.
