Don, I hope that you will stick it out and keep the site going. i dont know shit about bandwidth, but if you need any marketing advice, PM me. I will gladly help you with what I can.
speaking of reducing files sizes, i've had good luck using Image Optimizer to reduce file sizes without screwing up the quality. From my experiments with it, i've gotten jpeg files down by 1/3 to 1/2 in files size... it depends on the photo if it shows artifacts or not... but it really helps. Small amounts of tuning might help cut down that data transfers. BTW, i've enjoyed your site for some time now, one of the best resources for no-nonsense show photos.
Don, Not sure how I can help other than offering encouragement and saying that IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com/) is a great FREE program for working with photos and doing batch transactions. (And did I mention it's FREE?) Good Luck, Dennis
hey don... that fokti idea may be good... i notice socalcarculture embeds their site within his own design, so it's not too intrusive as an "outside" image source... whatever you decide, i'm happy to chuck in some dollars with zeroes. i still owe you a favour. col.
Don Try Fotki, I think I've suggested that to you several times and get a new host for your site there are much better deals out there with lots of space and bandwidth. I have 800 MB of space and 40 GB of traffic for $20/mo. from my current host. I currently have 44 GB of pics on Fotki using 1.5 - 2 GB of traffic a day!

Thanks for all of the comments and suggestions. There are a lot of good ideas here and I'll use several to get this thing tuned up. I checked out all of the suggestions for different hosting services. All of them are better than what I'm using now so a change is imminent. There are even a couple with unlimited bandwidth. I don't really want to use Fotki as a photo hosting sevice because I like my site to have it's own look and feel. I know this is possible (e.g. socalcarculture.com) but I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. I need to keep this easy to manage. I got a couple of offers for free hosting. I appreciate the offers but I don't want to be a sponge. Thanks again for the help. Don
