I hate to be the one to start a thread with no resources whatsoever but we'll see how it goes. I'm looking for people who grew up in the Hammond-East Chicago, Indiana area in the 60's and 70's. My dad had a 57 post g***er that he bought at a gas station on Indianapolis Boulevard. I was wondering if anyone had any information on the car prior to his purchasing or after his parting with it. The car had "SKAFISH GAS" painted on the side, which is probably the only thing separating it from the other 57 g***ers on the street at the time. It had a tunnel-rammed 427, backed by what my father says was an m-22. It had a fibergl*** tilt-nose front end and was wrecked on the right side at one time. I've heard stories about it (not always directly from my father) pulling wheelstands on the street. I don't expect anyone to reply, but if someone could prove me wrong, my dad would ****. Thanks if you actually took the time to read this.
It was a 210 painted red. My dad purchased and sold it in the early to mid 70's. Are you familiar with the area?
Not real familiar with the area but I had a 57 210 sedan that had a tunnel rammed 427 with a muncie 4 spd, and a fibergl*** tilt frontend. Not sure exactly where the car came from but it did come from somwhere up north in Indiana. The paint was stripped somtime in the 80's but it looked like it was originally green, it had about six different colors in the door jabs but can't remeber what they were.
Thanks for the response. I'll show my father the picture and see if it triggers anything in his mind. Thanks again
Ha, thats my buddy Justin. He'd be flattered to hear you call him my wife, but he's not really my type.
