Im pretty much going through my whole car. I have a 1962 Cadillac Coupe Deville and Im starting the suspension. I got some upper control arm bushings from my local parts store but they were the wrong ones. I then called Napa and see if they had any. They said they have two for that year. They said they had a 1 1/2 inch and a 1 7/16 inch diameter. I went over there to check them out to match them up with the ones that came out of the car and it was way off. I took my caliper to measure them and the one they call a 1 7/16 was less then 1 1/2. It was there Napa brand bushing. I called another shop to see if they had any. And they said they carry MOOG brand bushings. Im wondering if Im going to have the same problem. The bushings that came out of my car are 1.52 inches.

Anybody know where to get these bushings for this car?? I checked other years and other cadillac models but they come up with the same part number. And the upper control arm seem to be stock.

    Thanks.

Sometimes it just takes a little rethinking to grab the answer.

Always remember to check every local source and catalog before surrendering Kanter's. The old saying in the business is "You pay for your ignorance" and believe me there are lots of parts for old cars that are readily available that many antique parts vendors get well on.

Try Bob at Coopers Vintage Parts in Burbank. Their number is 818 567-4140. He carries all kinds of vintage parts and specializes in Cads. His prices are reasonable and they are super nice peolpe.
