I am in California but I grew up in Lorain Ohio which made me a Ford man... I've since branched out and I currently drive a '70 442. This is not a good car to customize as the value lies in its originality. I figure I can upgrade as long as it is reversible . Petronix ignition, flowmasters, progressive ratio rear springs, gas shocks, lightweight seats with SOME lateral support, Factory slap-shifter to replace the cumbersome "his and hers" shifter and a glass hood. I was a real frankenstein when I was young. The junkyards were full of muscle head engines in the 70s' and clean early vintage california tin was plentiful. I had a cop friend that told when an impound car was going to hit the l;ocal pick a part and we would scavenge the {delete} out of it ...I used to take great delight in going very fast for next to nothing ...
Welcome to the HAMB from South Texas. Have the first 9 pictures been posted somewhere else before? Where in CA are you? Good Luck. Lucky667
thanks, nice board ... I posted to a classic olds but my Photo bucket is public and the pics might have got around ...
Mmm, you really don't get it. Are you sure you know what this board is about? Traditional hot rods and cutoms. Not junkyards, parade floats or muscle cars.
Looks like there are plenty of "older" cars in the pics and some like to look at unusual pics ... Traditional is a word that does not seem to apply to " Hot Rods" ... I guess you haven't noticed the popularity of Gow Jobs which some might consider "Junk" ... It's not a junkyard ...
Dang get off his back. Traditional rods are defined as a lot of things. so please lord tell me if you know what the exact definition of a "traditional hot rod" is.
This Is why I get toms of aussie Tang ... Pendantic, rude, ignorant ... You would do well to not do ANYTHING this troll does . If you wanted a nice hot rod ... I currently DRIVE A '28 Roadster Pickup w/ small block ford and a Hansen Crash Box (no synchros) . So it is not much of a Hot Rod and I don't know if I would fit in with A poser in blue jeans and apack of ciggies in hi sleve ...
