I have a tank out of a 53 dodge that has some pin holes. any suggestions about how to repair them? I have looked for a NOS tank and no luck.

The pin holes tell you the tank is rusted out. get a new one don't mess with junk.

You could take the old tank to a welding shop and ask how close thy could come making a new one.

if the pinholes are in the sheet metal get a new one. if they are in a seam O'riley sells a good tank sealer that worked well for us. they recomend that you put a length of chain in the tank and roll it around to help s****e out the rust first. i think they charge about $20 for the sealer. try it and see if it works. if not then spend the 2 or 3 hundred bucks for a new one.

You can also measure the tank and make note of were the filler neck is located, then go to your loacl junk yard. I have had good luck finding tanks that match allot of cars with tanks from mid-70's full sized cars and they are cheap.

it will probibly be too thin, since holes are already showing up. One more pebble and bam.... another hole.

the rust probibly made the sheet metal already soo thin.

get a quote on a new custom tank?? might be worth it. The POR 15 tank repair kit is already 100 bucks.

Even if you pay 200 bucks for a new tank. its probibly worth it.
