I have a T-10 4-speed in my 65 Ford Falcon and the shifter is junk so I am buying a new Hurst setup...

First off, what is the difference between the Indy and Comp Plus?
The Indy does not take a linkage kit and ends up being half the cost. Is the Comp Plus really that much tougher/better/or?

and if I was going with an Indy which one would I order?

    INDY 4-SPEED SHIFTER
    Application:
    451 MUNCIE Transmission
    452 & 453 MUNCIE Transmission
    454 BORG WARNER T-10 & Super T-10 (AS9)
    410 BORG WARNER T-10 & Super T-10 (AS3)
    5030030

    OR

    INDY 4-SPEED SHIFTER
    Application:
    432 & 433 Ford T & C Transmission
    5030031

For the Comp plus on summit racing I have narrowed it down to two shifters.

    one fits
    Transmission Type Ford top loader
    431
    and
    Transmission Type Borg Warner T-10
    411

    and the other fits

    Transmission Type Borg Warner T-10
    412

The T and C is the toploader... If you have a T-10 thats no good to you.

I think the Compe***ion Plus is well worth the difference if you like banging gears, just get rid of the Nylon bushings for the steel or aluminum ones....

I had a similar problem with my 64 Falcon and I ended up having to make a custom set-up from a Mustang Compe***ion Plus.

The Falcon shifter mounts farther forward on the tailshaft than other units, right up against the main case. With the toploader I know that unless something changed the Falcon kit is no longer sold new and they bring a very good price.

I'm not sure on a T-10 maybe a kit is the same from something else. Otherwise the T-10 is not really as popular with Ford guys since the toploader is so much stronger, with that I doubt it still around either.

If no one offers anything better, see if you can get any placement information on those kits you have posted, the shortest one is your best bet.

***Hurst 3733164 This is posted to be the right kit for the Compe***ion Plus for a T-10 from Summit's site.... Funny thing is I recently checked on this part at the retail store and they come up as not being offered when I needed it.

I have a Comp Plus/T-10 in my Comet, you will be happy you spent the extra dough. I love my shifter.
