Hi Everyone, I'm George DeSomma Jr. from R.I.. I found this site while googling my name and it turns out someone was refering to my Fathers 53 Ford radical custom. I decided to join to let people know it is still around. My father still has it tucked away in his garage. It is a little dusty but in great shape. Heres a little peak from today If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. I was a founding member of the R.I. Sinners car club back in the 80's and went to alot of places in my fathers Ford with him. Thanks, George
Jr, Hi & Welcome to the HAMB from South Texas. Drag the 53 out of hiding & get it back on the street. Lucky667
Looking forward to seeing this car on the road when the weather breaks. Gonna take to Oakland Beach this spring/summer...Hope to see it there.
Hi Guys, My dad was talking about getting it out this summer. I go to the Oakland Beach cruise almost every week. I live 1/2 mile from there. What do you drive ckemp03. I'm sure I've seen it. Regards, George
got a five O ford, recent purchase, only made it once last year. look for the primer red shoebox. I live only a mile and a half. Its a small world, in an even smaller state!
It's cool to see a few other guys here from R.I. I live in Warwick as well... I have been to the shows at the beach. I don't have a car to "show", but, I'm working on 2 VW's... Hope to meet you guys there this Summer! Steve X.
Ckemp03, is that the ford outside prov. st. garage? 66 shorty, Vws are cool, There used to be a vw wagon(not a bug style) in Warwick that had an olds bigblock mid mounted. I remember it being built in the 70's. Jrs, you gotta have the doughboys too!
Sorry I haven't gotten back on this thread guys... Been buzy in the garage lately. Feels good to have a garage & be able to work in it! I don't have enough power though. I need to get 220v out there to use my big compressor & add a few outlets. (I only have one circuit out there & I trip it all the time trying to weld & grind... ) I don't have a type 3 for sale... there was one I almost bought last year for like $600.00 bucks, it was in pretty good shape for the age. The guy never got back to me, I had cash in hand, & ended up buying a '74 Bug. I just pulled the body off & removed the p***. floor pan. I've gotta get the body up on saw horses tonight to start fixing the rot in the lower body. Do any of you local guys have a 1 x 1 square tube bender? I'm going to need some tube bent & I can't afford a bender right now. You won't see the bus rollin through Warwick this year, I don't think. Not unless I can get a couple of guys in the area that have some good Fab skillz... (**Hint Hint**) PM me if anyone has some extra time & can lend a hand on a weekend or a Tuesday/Wednesday... LOL!
