Hey GOOD LUCK!!! In today's economy everybody needs a little to a lot of luck. Federal, State and municipal jobs are great to get if you can find one. Good pay and benefits, regular hours plus paid overtime. Unfortunately a lot of governments are going to furloughs and layoffs, but if you have an interview, then that's a good sign that those problems haven't hit that organization yet. Hope you get the job.
Seriously man, good luck. My wife has been out of work for 6 months now, thank god for unemployment. I have never had to go searching, I have a great, stable job. But for those looking, god speed.

Thanks a lot guys! You know... Anyone thats in the l.a. Area san fernando, palmdale, lancaster, simi, should look into getting a job as an emergency medical technician... Its not hard to do... You just have to be able to work with people and patients, and not freak out when one of em is goin down while they're in the back of your ambulance... Seriously tho its a not the best job... But it is easy to get hired on. My company is constantly hiring... Look into a emt cl*** at your local community college... I know of one thats cheap 70 bucks plus the cost of books... I believe its under 200 bucks total which aint bad! The cl*** is in mission hills at north valley occupational center... All you gotta do is read the book, p*** the skills test and p*** the final. Then you have to take a national registry test. Once you p*** that you have to be able to get a los angeles county permit to work on an ambulance. I would recommend you look into that first... Because if you cant get your la county permit then companies wont hire you and you're screwed outta 200 bucks... Look it up the requirements or reasons for denial of a la county card and la d.o.t. Card, then decide on weather or not you want to get into this business... The company i work for is getting their county license and they will be staffing more ambulance... Growing rapidly... Its not the best pay.. But its something... And you get plenty experience too if you want to move onto anything else... Maybe fire dept? Or a hospital job... I hope this helps you guys out!
thanks dude. Im going for a dispatch position... I dont really know for what tho... I guess i'll find out when they hire me... I could be dispatching county ambulances or working for sheriff's department? I guess they'll put me where they need me.
Good Luck! I'm a little confused on the job though. Are you interested in being a medic? I don't know about L.A. but here there's alot more to it than driving an ambulance. Your gonna see alotta weird **** but it can be a pretty rewarding career.
no... the job im going for is dispatch. im already an emergency medical tech... but i work for private ambulance company that mainly does IFT's... not much going on there... i still see a lot of wierd **** tho.
it was rough... but i got through it! i made em laugh too... i hope that counts for sumthin. thanks to everyone for the encouragement... i really appreciated it!
