Has anyone used the S-10 frame and the V-8 motor mount swap in their truck?

I've done this and it seems the engine is too far forward. The AD-Eng. site says that they should not be used, but I have already made this mistake and the radiator will not fit anymore any solutions would be greatly appreciated, so I don't have to rethink this whole project.

You need to ditch the motor mounts. It puts the engine 4" forward and you need to be 1-1 1/2" BACK if you want to use an HEI (I know it isn't TRAD). S10 firewalls are forward. All you need is a flat plate and some holes drilled in it to move the frame.

I have an S-10 front clip in my shoebox. I used the 4.3 liter frame mounts, unbolted them and swapped sides, then welded them in place once I had the block positioned where I wanted it. On the block I used replacement 67 Camaro Motor mounts. Mine had a funky oblong washer that had to be removed for it to fit It sits the block pretty low in the frame, but it allows you to sit the engine back further. You gotta do some cutting/notching if you want to use center dump manifolds. It worked out real good for me. Let me know if you have any questions.

My truck had A s-10 standard cab long bed frame under it. The wheelbase was about one inch off. I ran A 4-link so it didnt matter. The steering gear box will not allow the stock radiator to work. All my motor and tranny mounts were custom. Hope this helps... [IMG]

Then when you are done, see what a kid from age 13-16 can do.

Then click on the link in my sig line.

Yeah, we changed the drive shaft length and you CAN make the stock radiator work. It isn't THAT hard. We also made our own trans cross mount out of an old full size truck cut to fit and a spacer added.

Are you saying you HAVE the AD Engineering kit? If so, you can use the radiator as they put the body on stilts but you have to move the engine back and NOT use S10 V8 conversion mounts because they put the engine too far forward.
