  1. This body of work is why Jim Amos is in the NNDRA Legion of Honor. Thanks, Jim

It's possible. Those cars passing by in the background are on "The Lincoln Highway" US Rte 30. It was the first transcontinental highway. It was a pretty big deal for a while not that many years before this video.

I might have been there that day. It was more like 2 1/2 hrs away back then but a big meet like that could have gotten me off of my ass. That is exactly how I remember it. I was there one night when they had to stop the racing so that a plane could land. The home track of Dave Striklers "Old Reliable". He was one of my favorites.

  3. Yeah, that used to happen a lot Tommy. You would see the red lights on the tree start flashing and you would start looking for the plane. I remember seeing Don Garlits grude race Shirley Muldowney there once, he put her on the trailer!

  4. That was some nice footage, why is winter here, makes me want to go play.

  5. REALLY enjoyed that! Thanks for posting. I need audio version to play in my garage for inspiration.

  15. I was about 16 and we went up from Baltimore with beer and a mission. This video really charges me up. 4-speed cars are cool to watch and drive. Remember when you could prove yourself to your buds when you could shift! There will be an M-22 in my 55' axle car. About York, does anyone remember Earlbeck Speed Shop in Baltimore? I think Tom ran the first 67' Z-28 in Md. around that time at York.
