Any of you fellows know where to buy Speed Bleeders or parts #s for an 88 S10 4x4 blazer rear end with Drum brakes ?Seem all I can find is Bleeders for Disk brakes.Have this in my 57 chevy and seems like I always have to do things by myself. Thanks so much for your time.
I heart speed bleeders. I bought mine from Jegs. They've got books , I bet they can get you just the ones you need. oh and I got them for my '51 ford rear end, 92 camaro calipers, and 96 crown vic rear calipers, so I'm certain you'll get them.
Both Car Quest and Napa have em, although they may be the house brand, they work just the same. I had them all the way around on a S-10 I used to have. Those things are great.
my 49 pickup has em since no one wanted to come over and help me bleed my brakes. Had to do em myself.
i had some, a year after i installed them i tried to bleed my brakes again and found they had rusted solid, i removed them and tried to drill out the check ball and use them as regular bleed screws and the ball was to hard to drill, had to buy new normal bleed screws, but maybe it was just me?
Put rubber vac. dillies over them, that way they wont rust. I never had'm rust, but it seems like every time I sell a car the buyer gets free speedbleeders.
I have never heard of speedbleeders. What are they and does anyone have a picture or diagram of what they look like? Sounds like it may be the answer to my sooooft peddle on my brake system.
If you can post on this forum, you must have an internet connection... Here is a what typing in "speedbleeders" got me. Should answer all your questions. http://www.speedbleeder.com/
if your local numbnut auto parts store has the "HELP" line of parts on the red cards you may find them there. got mine at Kragens. EDIT: that picture of the cutaway bleeder seems strangly ******.
They are great! I went from a new dry system to fully bled brakes in less than 5 min without having my wife pump and hold the brakes.
I ordered a set yesterday for my Wilwood calibers and they arrived today, direct from Speedbleeders. $7.00 each and $6.00 for the neat bleed kit. Great service, reasonable cost.
yep, they are great. i got mine for my 63 chevy, 64 chevy and 53 hudson all at oreillys. all wife's hate to bleed brakes. well mine any way.
Thanks fellows. Most of the replies were about Disk brakes. I need them for DRUM brakes. Thanks so much again.
Did you not see the repliey from someone who had these on his S-10? Or the guy that had them on his camaro, studibaker? Those are drums. Go top the parts store have them order them if they have to. Its usually next day delivery.
What difference would it make whether it is drum brakes or disk? I don't see how the bleeder knows the difference. ??????????
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say 88 Blazer drum brakes have the same bleeder size as 10 billion other Chevies, as well as other makes. I think they make a speed bleeder in your size. Just google speed bleeder applications and you'll find lists of what sizes fit what cars. You're sure to find what you need.
Thanks again folks. When I went too some of the sites that have Speed bleeders they all seem to mention "Front" and "Calipers".That made me think that there is a difference.Advance auto sells some for $9.98 and also some Speed Bleeders for now get this $o.25. Got the "Help desk" Motorrite part #12720 bleeder for an s10 and there is no way it will fit the wheel cylinder on my drum brakes.May have to try NAPA or Carquest as they may know what I need and order me one.
i don't know how many interchange but a lot of them do. the ones on my 63 chevy and 53 hudson were the same! actually the only ones i had trouble getting was for my wifes disc import **** car, so i didn't get them and she had to help.
