I might know the s****book store you're talking about. Is it called Madtown S****pers? That one is on the east side. I think there might be one on the west side too but I'm not sure. I went into the Madtown S****pers one though and they have just about EVERYTHING. When I say just about, it's because I couldn't find very much car stuff. We were looking for either old cars, or race cars and didn't have much luck with either. If you know of anywhere online to get car stuff for s****booking, let me know.

I don't think thats the store Im talking about...

There isnt ALOT of car stuff out there...there is some. I think HotRodLadyCrusr and I have pretty much everything ever made s****bookwise that is car related....Theres a few lines of stickers....and about 10 different papers that have flames or old car/trucks on them. There's some racing stuff out there too...just keep looking. Ebay tends to actually have some stuff too - I've bought 50s themed papers off of there....

I can always pick up stuff at my store ( i can send you pics of what it looks like first), you can pay me for it, and I'll mail it to you. [IMG]

Thanks. = ) Do you have any pictures of any of the work you've done? What kinds of materials did you start with? How did they work for you? Sorry I'm so full of questions, it's just something that I"m very interested in, but don't kknow a whole lot about. Any information you would be willing to share would greatly help. = )

What kind of other art do you do? Just cruious.

My fiance is striping, so go and hone your skills man!! its a great thing!! I can paint but cant stripe for ****...haha, good thing I have her huh?

Thanks mikeo. I will check it out. Also thanks to Kris. I didn't even think to look for 50's themed stuff. I bet I will have better luck looking there than under cars. = ) Everyone on here sure is super nice!

Yeah, we pretty much just sprayed over what was there. It was my first time ever painting with air tools. I've only even ever spray painted once in my life. My husband and I tried to sand down the big cracks and you can tell exactly where we sanded too. That is mostly because we didn't have any primer. Since we weren't too worried about the finished product and just wanted to get a feel for the paint gun we didn't worry about it too much. It's just a practice hood and I'm sure either we or I will paint it a number of more times. Thanks for the encouragement! I think I'll wait a while till I try the metal flake and candy paints though. = ) I had a hard enough time getting the lacquer on evenly. It looks good in the picture because Bugman did the last coat for me so I would have something even to practice striping on once I get my materials. I had a whole lot of fun doing it though and plan on practicing some more really soon!

Yep, Kris and Denise are major s****bookers. I understand they're planning on decoupaging the interior of Kris' VW. [IMG]

Hello & welcome to the HAMB from a fellow Ford lover! I have a 59 Tbird (in it's fifth year of progress) which hopefully will be on the road before I am too old and senile to drive it. Good luck on your painting~

Welcome aboard from a fellow limey Gal.

I'm in the process of getting my 52 GMC pick up on the road after spending last winter rebuilding engine and re doing paintwork.

Lizz is shaping up to be a fabulous painter. For her first time ever even holding a paint gun, she did a great job.

Welcome to the HAMB. this is a great place to find help on just about any subject related to cars, just try to keep it on a Traditional level and you'll do fine. Something about electronic fuel injection and Hondas really sets these guys off. The usual routine is just ask and the answers will appear on your computer screen like magic.
Oh Yea! Denise and Kris are the best, they just don't come any nicer than those two.

Where'd you get your '49 from? I swear a guy came to look at my '56 caddy that had pics of your car or one very very close down to the caddy hubcaps.

Welcome Lilblondi, you know what this place is like and I do believe the replies to your post show exactly what it is like.
As Cherryblossom said the Friday art posts are the place to go for inspiration. Really don't put myself in the category of a great pinstriper, more the mad old novice pinstriper.
Love your Spinner ( that's what us ***ies call 50/52 Fords.
When I saw you quilt, I knew Cherryblossom and you would have heaps to discuss. My best friend's wife is a quilter and does some amazing stuff.
Hey you girls need to shoot some shots of your s****booking and post on Fiday art ( even if Hankcash and his 2 buddies can't handle it [IMG]). Can never get enough diversity there. Geoff aka Whodaky

Revhead asked where our 49 came from. It was actually a Texas car, but we got it in North Dakota. I believe it was in Texas a few years ago, but not sure for how long. That would be crazy if it was the same car. Small world!

I don't think anybody would really like any of the stuff I've s****booked so far. Actually, all I've actually DONE so far is one page for our wedding. I don't even think it has any pictures on it yet. heh. Maybe once I get going on that I'll post something. I finally have everything figured out as to what I'm going to do, but now that school has started and I've actually been getting called to sub = ) I just need to find time. Thanks for the suggestion! I will definately take a look at the art show tomorrow. = )

I hear what your saying Cherryblossom. But it is always good to be exposed to other art forms. For those lateral thinkers a****st us, everythnig little thing helps. Always good to find new areas to steal ideas from [IMG] Geoff aka Whodaky
