I work at the new Mountainside Middle School in Mead. We have a group of kids raising money to take a science trip to Florida this summer. All of their fundraisers have been busts and there are many low income kids who won't be able to go if they don't raise the funds. I was going to suggest to the teacher in charge of the group that they hold a small car show as a fundraiser at the school. I've gone to a few and they were always well attended. My question is, could I get a bunch of you guys and your friends to come out for an afternoon show say on a Sunday afternoon or maybe a Friday evening show if they showed a drive-in movie? I was thinking if they had some door prizes donated and barbecued some donated hot dogs, they could charge $10 for registration, including two hot dogs. They could give door prizes, have some raffles and maybe even have a couple of trophies, like 7th grade and 8th grade choice. Would this be something you guys would attend if I suggest it to her? I'd like to do what I can to help the kids out, but I don't want them to go through the whole thing and only have a few cars show? Any suggestions on something to make it better, we'd have the fields and two parking lots at our disposal if you have a suggestion.
You can count my wife and I in, I have the 41 I bought from Chris and my wife has a 67 galaxie 500 convert. we would be glad to help out. just let us know.
