I'm needing to buy a set of wide whites for my 40 Ford - who do you guys prefer as the vendor? Thanks for any advice.

Well I see you're an Alliance Member. Check out the Alliance Vendor section, Coker hooks us up with a really good deal.

If you do not just order from the vendor section here, then do a search here on this - this has been covered many times

I like both Coker and Diamond Back Cl***ics, but since Coker and I are both in the Alliance, my future purchases will likely be from them. Quality stuff at decent prices always wins my heart.:D:D:cool:

I like Diamond Back Cl***ics myself. A friend has a set on his 40 coupe and they haven't yellowed in 2+ years setting outside all the time.

    Maybe...

So I've got a pair of Cokers (given to me by a "friend") on the front of my '55 Caddy, and I've got a pair of Diamondbacks on the rear of my Caddy...

I've never been a fan of Cokers cuz of the horror stories I've heard (and seen, courtesy of my "friend") and I've had (and still have) a full set of Diamondbacks on my Studey for several years now and they remain pure white and in good shape...and there's a lot of miles on them...

So, when Spring finally shows up around here (we just had a major snow storm...I've got a foot of the white stuff in my back yard), we'll see just how good the Coker's are compared to the Diamondbacks...I can tell you right now, however, the Coker whitewalls are nowhere near as white as the Diamondbacks.

I like the idea of going down to my local retailer and supporting my local economy, which does supply coker, but I cant figure out if he can give me the same kind of deal as being an alliance member can. I will have to sort that out before long myself.

Not true...my bro Dan, has them on his '47 Chevy Aerosedan...AND his '54 Caddy...between those three sets, all purchased at different times (the Caddy four years ago), the whitewalls are PURE white, unlike any other brands...

Since I don't know where you purchased yours, let me say that I dealt direct with Diamondback out of SC...

I have had bad experience with Cokers (8 tread separations), no problem with Diamondback replacements.
