I love the Office Space Reference. I have a 39 Hudson in build right now. I dont want to chop the top, but damn, does that chopped 36 look good!
Five dollar custom question of the week: The Pierson '36 coupe ran a louvered pair of hood sides. What very well known "modern" full custom 36 Ford runs these exact hood sides today??
the Pierson coupe has been found!!! It is in my dreams.. Thanks Ryan for this story and the pictures, it reminds me that I really do prefer a 36 3 window over most any thing else.
I was just reading the article of it(very red street rod) it was an issue of Street Rod Action from the early 90's...shame what the owner did to it, said he had it since the eartly 60's and regretted selling off the orig parts that were all with the car when he bought it..........
Hi Ryan As several guys have noted the Bob Pierson '36 coupe is still alive. Years ago a former GCRC member found the car in very poor condition. He bought it with the idea of fixing it up someday. It laid in his Burbank garage for some years. I even did an article about it for Street Rodder in about 1985. After that he decided to build it into a street rod so he could use it. Externally the coupe looked much as it had originally except that it was now bright red in color. Naturally he put late model running gear under the car. The car looked nice and was featured in some magazines. Unfortunately the owner passed away about 2 years ago. He was a member of the Road Kings car club. A good friend and Road King member now has the car. It is a very nice '36 coupe with a great history. Don www.montgomeryhotrodbooks.com
Greta thrread...the Pierson 36 3W is my fave 36 of all time. Beautiful, fast, practical and timeless. What else can you ask from a traditional hot rod? On a side note, how awesome would it be to see her redone that way Bob had her done when he was a young bloke? How would Bob react to it if he saw it that way ? Priceless. Rat
