Now that is a treasure! How that guy got that out of the studio in one piece we'll never know. Concept pieces are usually destroyed if not approved and certainly destroyed in the next year or so.
    A great great find!
Take a mould off it and sell the shells for baby strollers and kiddie-cars! There's money to be made in that dude besides the historical bucks!

cool i have aero i was hopeing to see a real one i never seen a wagon yet ..hell they may have never made it for all i know .

  6. Never made one, not even in Brazil. Looks like they would have beat the Nomad and Safari to the showrooms if they'd made it.

  7. I remember seeing a drawing of a Willys Aero wagon concept many years ago and possibly a 3/8ths scale model(which I believe that is).All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!Sure would look good in MY garage!

  9. Very cool, too bad they never made it. It would have sold well I think.

  10. Yeah, real neat find! Seen a couple design studio scale models but nothing that old or cool. Love the lines on the car too.

  11. Few things cooler than 2 door wagons, real or phantom wagons.
What a find. That's one amazing thing about the web. You can see just about anything.

It's not clear to me, is one side modeled as a two door and the other a four door? Design studio for sure.

That is a very neat piece!

Very cool, but what's the story on it? Do you own it, where did you find it, etc...?

As I recall, the Aero Willys was available as a 2-door post sedan and as a hardtop. I don't believe that they ever made a 4-door, and certainly no wagons.

    Great find!

Aero 4 doors are very common.. Wagons never existed.. except for this one..

This Wagon did come from the Willys factory.. Im slowly getting more info as time goes on..

If Im not Mistaken , the models are as follows from 52 to 54.. Lark , Ace , Wing, Falcon and Eagle.. 53 was the year for both split windshield and 1 piece windshield.. 54 had the different taillight set up.. 52 to 53 were all the same.. The 53 year was also the Anniversary model with some having the Gold W on the deck lid and Grill..

Maybe it should have been called the Willys Aero-wagoneer! Just seems natural.

    cool piece of history.

I have never understood how Nomads / Safari's keep getting compared to two hardtop wagons that have vent, door, quarter glass then B-pillar.
almost every car guy that has looked at my 52 Plymouth wagon has said "You built a Nomad"

NONAME.. I like the Wagon you have there.. Cool.
    :)

  24. Find the Consumers Guide book "Prototype Cars: Cars that Never Were" and the last page (96) has a picture of that very same styling model. It would have been the first hardtop wagon had it been made. Great find!

I think "very common" is an overstatement, but I'm obviously mistaken about the existence of 4-doors. Thanks for straightening me out.

Wait for a few years.. Like every thing else in the old car world.. they are fading away..

The 4 doors that are beyond restoring are good for parts if anything.. I would not mind having another one some day.. I just have to finish what I have first..

  28. As requested...:D
