i think black betty was slang, for a gun in the civil war south...cool song the original was cool too...early 80s
That was great. Two of my favorite hobbies, car and drums. You got to love drummer they are the only musicians that beat the shit out of the instruments. I guess that why most drummers are psychotic. If only I could get my drums to do that.
great morning thread...love that track....what gets me really rolling is the guitarist in the original with the blond pony tails sporting the wicked curls!!
Well, looks like I am going to turn some wrenches, then do the biggest burnout possible in the front of my house. Send bail money
This song cranks, play it loud. Got me moving, which is hard to do. This long haired country boy, i get drunk in the morning, get stoned in the afternoon. Lay around like my ol tick hound. :d
And its an Australian Band and an Aussie hot rod! Though the banjo annoys the crap out of me, I much prefer the Ram Jam version. Its kinda like 'American Woman' by The Guess Who, Lenny Krapitz totally fucked that up. As for Black Betty being about a rifle, there is some contention there. It is often sited as being about a number of things from the rifle to a police van. The song was originally written by Led Belly (One of my favorite artists) he claimed it was about a black prostitute.
I don't want to work on my car. I want to sodomize my cousin... Thanks for the southern influence!!!! CheaterJack
That's not really a southern thing... more of a personal problem. Sorry, I'm a bit partial to the South.
