Hello Everyone, Just a routine introduction. I have been lurking on here for a couple of years. I dont usually have much time for anything other than reading the forums on my lunch break, but today I am home from work, sick, and bored! Perfect time to finally register, right? Anyway, I am an immature 50 year old and my background is Mopar Muscle cars, and helping my Dad do AACA restorations on his Model T Fords in my younger days. I dont currently have a HAMB type hot rod (unless my 64 Fury counts), but I have obtained a couple of future project vehicles. A 37 International D2 panel truck and a 46 Dodge WC pickup. Both are needing total resto's. The IHC is pretty much un touched, but is missing a rear fender that will be hard to find. The Dodge was rescued from a guy that started to rod it with a 440 and a Volare front sub frame. Unfortunantly, I am not happy with the sub frame installation, and it has other frame rust out problems. I am thinking of trying a Dakota or S 10 frame swap. I am currently in the process of building a home made sheet metal brake for working on these old trucks plus my 78 Dodge truck that is my current project.
Thanks for the welcome guys! It's still a rainy nasty night here as well. Too cold and wet to work on my metal brake project. I do all my welding outside of my wood framed garage. Plus, I'm still sick with cold, congestion, and asthma. I need to snort some welder smoke! LOL BTW, let me explain my online moniker. I started later in life and have two young kids that are about the same age as my high school buddies grand kids. We started the BBD thing a few years ago when they were toddlers. Think of Big Bad Dad sung to the tune of " Who's afraid of the big bad wolf" LOL
Well Hello! Another Fincastle guy? Do we know each other? What kind of old car do you drive around here? You might see me out occasionally in my dark red 67 Dodge Coronet R/T or my white 64 Fury.... Satin 46? would that be a ford truck? Small world on the Hamb!
Welcome from Maryland. I've passed by Fincastle many times on I-81 but don't think I've ever stopped. Seems like a nice area though. Enjoy your HAMB experience....Don.
