Getting my first airbrush tomorrow, never had or used one (use one of those big *** paint guns regularily). Bought it from a friend for about 10 bucks. So i have the ultimate newbie question: How should i start learning how to paint cool, but easy paintjobs? All tips are welcome. / Theo
First of all, you won't be doing many "paintjobs" with an airbrush. They are designed for small detail work, like T-shirts, graphics, photo retouch, model cars and artistic endeavors. Get yourself some butcher paper or similar paper and some water based airbrushed paint and practice, practice, practice. Good luck, they a lots of fun once you learn how to use them.
Start with India Ink on paper. Comes ready to spray, cleans up with water. Hit some of the airbrush forums for serious help. http://www.kustomkulturelounge.com/forum/index.php http://www.airbrushaction.com/forum/
Well, i didn't mean paintjob... I'm from Sweden, so my english isn't the greatest ever. Didn't find the right word, so i used the on that came to my mind! Thanks for the tips guys!
The BIGGEST thing you should learn is the Dagger Stroke! Imagine painting a dagger of gr***. Wide at bottom, point at top. Hard to describe but once you perfect that.. lettering, shadows, angles .. well everything will feel the touch of the dagger stroke. keep it up and don't get too discouraged! It's a long road but one well worth traveling. ~Dewayne~
