You can get the biggest money out of the 32, and that 36 is going to be a stunner.
Best of luck, sorry to hear you have such a hard decision to make.

Keep both and buy a smaller house. Houses are easier to find than 36 3-windows.

    I'd sell that '32 all day long to keep a '36 3W......
It'll get ya a bigger down payment on yer house too, maybe a few bucks to throw at the '36....
    Tough decisions there Myke regardless......

Thanks for all the help. Everything said here is what I have been thinking.

I even have been playing the lottery for the last few months..no joke.

I could try pimping myself out but that always ends up costing me money instead.

I will be good to have my own garage and I can always put something together again later.

  6. Sorry to hear may have to let it go man.If you have a price in mind, I garantee you a finished product you`d be proud of. Visit me at www.timebombs.ca and see for yourself. I`ve been looking for a 3-window for awhile now.PM me if it gets to that and let me know price-wise...Car looks great..........TBJ

That's a tough one. A house is a house though and if it's one of those cars to help you get the house, I think I'd let the 36 go.....Boy it would be PAINFUL though.....

Myke, sorry to hear that you might part with one of the toys...it always hurts.Of course the 32 is a driver and much hard harder to find it compared to a 35/36 3w,at list here in Mexico...Better keep em both,if you can...
Try to keep lookin at the market for the best house deals too..don't be narrow minded,be positive on lookin at even less expensive house too...
anyway,if it helps in my car experience here in Mexico i still find quire regularly 35/36 3 windows..actually many more 3w than 5w,very unusual but true...
So,if you have to make the tuff decision let me know when you need to buy another 35/36 3w...perhaps can help with one of those, they are still around here...32 are much harder to come by..
BTW,the LZ dash looks great there...art deco rules.
    best of luck, Sled

Hey Myke was there a build thread on your 36 that chronicled the chop. Would love to see it if there was. I have a 36 3W also that is getting ready to go under the knife and yours sure looks spot on. Any info you could enlighten me on regarding how much was was taken out would be much appreciated. Thanks, Steve

WOW Myke that's not an easy choice. I would be sick over that decision. You'll be real miserable for a long time if you do sell. I'd do my best to keep both of them. There's got to be another way to get a house. Build one if you have to. Find some land with trees and build a cabin out of the logs or something. Have you found a house with a big enough garage. I think that's going to be the tough thing. Worrying about how to pay for it comes later. ~ Scott

I already know I will be pretty bummed to see it go. I did list my triumph on ebay so I will see how that goes, maybe I can get some good money for that.

I figure I will allways be able to find something someday again. I am convinced that the 32 would be much harder.......well way more expensive to replace.

Will this be your first house? Have you picked one out that you really like? If so sell the '32 and put the money into the house. We built ours 30+ years ago, short list of things that helped pay for materials, 1915 T Speedster with Roof overhead and 20" Buffalo wheels, NOS ARDUN heads, 1920's race car photo collection. Having a home is better than having cars, once you are in you can start buying cars and parts all over again.

  17. I second any photos of the chop since it will help when doing mine. Try and find a way to keep your 32 you will regret it but having a house is also the smart thing todo.

Mike buying a house is a very smart move and should be applauded. My 2c, if its sell only one of the cars to make it happen keep the 32 as it is finished and being a 3 window damn hard to replace, if you can keep that and sell the 36 and if you have to, the bike. That way you have a rod to drive whilst you piece together a bike and/or another car and in the end you have it all (house, car, bike). If you have to sell them all, do that too. Owning a house is critical to securing your future, hot rods are ancillary to that. Congrats on making such a hard decision.

  20. i think i would sell of one of my nuts before i let a 32 3 window go. like some one said earlier sell the pines insert and the 36 and youd have a nice down payment for a house.

I'd sell the '32 cause I'm more of a tail dragger guy.

  23. I am getting ready to start on my 35 3window. Can you tell me how much you chopped it. It really looks great. Thanks!!

I will dig up some pics on the chop. It's about 3 1/2" with a ton of reshaping work done.

I love 30's 3 window coupes! I myself like the fat fender cars, but that's why I'm different than everybody else.

Cool hood sides on the '36. Without a shadow of a doubt I would keep the '32.

This ones easy for me. Keep both cars, and buy a garage that you can live in! Probably cheaper and more useful. Or build one with a living area above the shop. But if you are married, this might make you single real quick. My next house will be more garage than house and my wife is in 100% favor of it after taking care of a big house and yard for 17 years. And if I had one more car it would have to be a 3W like yours!

    Mike:

This may not be the most popular opinion but, I'd go for the house and sell the '36. Of the two, '36's can still be bought for less than that incredible driving (key word) '32 you got there.

You are thinking right. The time is right to buy now. You are also in a win-win situation for you aren't selling a house at a loss.

If you get the bug that bad, the market will correct, sell your house, roll the profit into another car. There is nothing like having your own garage. Nobody to tell you nothing.

It can't be beat. I'd say go for it.

BTW: Everything you seem to touch turns to gold. That bobber is one of the coolest I've think I've seen. Was that your doing as well? Maybe you need a show on the Speed Channel. Damn!
