I'm thinking of putting a banjo rear end in my 33 dodge p/u and wanted to know if they are ok to mount with a 4 link using elliptical springs, or if it's not a good idea. Also other ideas on installing it, I have to run it open because my trans won't adapt to the torque tube, and the frame will be kicked up in the rear quite a bit. Basically going for the look that's why I want to use the banjo axle. I looked in the threads but can't find what i'm looking for, any help appreciated!
    Thanks.

Why would you use a 4-link with elliptical springs or do you mean quarter elliptics?

Elliptical springs are like what was used on buggies and very early buckboard like automibiles, that is, two half-elliptics(conventional rear car leaf springs) mounted one over the other, one up on the bottom, one down on the top.

I meant quarter elliptics, I just don't want to buy the banjo axle and install it only to have to replace with a 9" because it won't work. I could just do a standard 4 link with coilovers, but then I think I will lose the look I'm after. What about splittin the bones? All the threads I looked at only cover the open diff. and stock type chassis installs.Anyone have any pics of kicked frame with a banjo installed? Thanks!

If you are running it with an open drive it would be no different than putting any other rear end in its place. You have to build the mounts for the 4-link and springs.
