Sedan or Coupe fenders

    Will coupe fenders work on a 29 tudor sedan?
    I bought a right rear coupe fender for my sedan off egay and thought I was getting a sedan fender so I screwed up. A least it was a good buy Ha Ha.
    I like the look of the wider coupe fender and it looks like the front and back end of the fender is about the same dimension as the sedan fenders 10" but the top is much narrower on the sedan fender.
    I put mini tubs in the car so the original mounted holes and brackets won't work anyway.
    Not sure how the running boards splash aprons and front fenders will blend with the coupe fenders.

    Anyone ever use coupe fenders on there sedan?
    How did it all turn out if you did and pictures would be nice.
    Still not sure how to mount the fenders to the body I have some ideas but not sure they will work or not.

    lots of people run the coupe fenders on the sedans for more tire space. Like a mini tub. you can cut the fender well out and bolt the fenders to the top of the tub.
     
  3. Tudor rear fenders are approx 7" wide at the top. They also have a flange pointing forward at the rear that hits the body side, and wider than the top.
    To put coupe fenders on the rear of a sedan, you will also have to cut the vertical structure behind the side gl***, stepping into the body.

    I have already taken the vertical stucture behind the side gl*** completely out and replaced it with tubing same as the rest of the car but it now connects to the top of the tubs instead of the subrails.
    The original radius is still the same around the fender openings on the body so I am not sure how to bolt the fenders directly onto the body, but might be able to build some kind of bracket to go from the fender to the body inside where it won't show.
    Anyone have any pics of how they might have done this?
    Would the fenders then be somewhat tucked under the body?
    I didn't want the tires sticking out from under the fenders and that is why I put the tubs in but didn't really think all the way through as to how the fenders would go back on.
    I am going to the streetrod show this friday so I hope someones car there has something for me to get ideas from.

    All the stock fenders have the same arch and width and line up with the aprons and runningboards. The only concern is the recessing into the body.
    If you have a tire sticking out problem, either solve it with wheel offset or, god forbid, widen the rear fenders.

    Thanks pasadenahotrod that is the answer I was looking for.
    I will play around with fitment with the coupe fender and see how it goes and if I can figure it out I will only need 3 more fenders instead of 4.

    Sedan and touring fenders are narrower at the top, and have the side splash on the rear inside. Find the right fenders. You'll save a ton of work, and have a fender that looks right.
