I have seen a lot of people permanently attach their visors and finish the metal off on top either welding the visor to the side pieces over the door or having it welded right in to a filled in top. I was wondering how you then slide the windshield out because the visor has to come off and then the windshield frame can slide out easy. Is there some trick to this that I don’t know or are people just planning on never replacing the front gl***? It would **** to have to mess up your body work if you got a stone chip.
    Thanks

The A windshield unbolts from the header, you don't need to slide the hinge apart....

as oldrelics said..if you do this modification than you would un bolt the upper hinge from the windhield header on the cars body and take it off that way..hinge and all.

there is like 6 or 8 counter sunk screws holding the top hinge on the upper header..and the nuts are up in the chanel of the header (from the inside of the car)

Ok, I didn’t realize you could get at those screws unless the windshield was slid out first. I was wondering because I just started doing my body work the other day and need to get a plan going. Thanks for the replies

If you think its a treat to take out the windshield with the visor on, try taking out the wood header it fastens to and replacing all the top wood, header and all without taking off the visor!! I ended up doing just that as my visor was not only welded on but leaded too!!
