Just a few from MOTOR CITY AUTO ARTS PINSTRIPER'S PANEL JAM from DETROIT AUTORAMA. This years event had THE OLD & YOUNG PINHEADS ...showing there talent. All the proceeds from the Panel Jam Auction is going to Leader Dogs for the Blind http://www.leaderdog.org/ http://www.hotrodhotline.com/feature/2009show/09pinstriperspaneljam/
I'd like to get some paint slung onto my pile. Anyone in the greater Detroit area looking for some practice?
I know there was a lot of drama leading up to this event and I guess some stayed away. But was it successful in raising money for a very good cause??
It was a very historical, magical, and successful event! The best one yet in spite of said drama. Alot of old friendships were rekindled, many, many new ones started and a legend was honored. I'll add some pics tonight. NITROFC: Great photo's and thank you for posting the pics and thread. Joel
Your right Moose, about $28,000 I believe. The folks at Leader Dogs were thrilled with the donation and event. The economy has put a damper on all of the charity pinstripe auctions across the board this year. Never the less, it was a extremely awesome weekend in our corner of Cobo Hall. It was all about the friendships and the art... Joel
Joel .Thanks for having me around ... AJ is good friend of mind and when he told me what was going on I could not say NO ! ...
I think everyone involved in this years event would agree it was successful, AND raised almost $30,000 . --- A lot of us went to see for ourselves what was going to happen. If we didn't like what we saw, we would not have stuck around. Just as easy to walk out, as it was to walk in. Luckily, we didn't have to make that decision. Thanks to everyone who made it happen.
Didn't make it up to the Jam, but I kept an eye out for you elsewhere, obviously to no avail. Sorry I missed ya, glad the jam went well.
i only had the chance to stripe 3 panels.....but it was a total ball , just being in there......glad to hear they made a little bit of cash... brandon / bdi
30K isn't bad, the vendors i spoke to at the show said they were about 50% down this year (must be the economy) so if things were normal they would have done about 60K and thats about right for detroit. I finely got to meet Alan Johnson I was from NY and he's from NJ and we meet in Detroit! I love this **** FRITZ
i bought several pices and for the last 2 years i have added alot to my collection, i look forward to next year.......who knows maybe i might pick up a brush.......did i just say that??????????.........moose must have rubbed off on me a little..... l love the work of all the stripers, great job guys

NITROFC! Thanks for posting the pics! It was my first time hangin with all you guys. Joel, thanks for having me there! I look forward to next year as well as Chicago. I will bring more stuff for the auction next time. It was truly a great time and I enjoyed meeting everyone. LOTS of amazing talent! Unkl Ian- great to meet you and the eyeball pins rock!
Well said Ian, I think a lot of folks did just that but once one got there it was pretty obvious you were a**** friends. I thank EVERYONE who came to join in the fun, YOU are the ones that made it happen. As Joel said, it was magical, the spirit of the Motor City is simply incomparable and truly priceless. Ian, thank you so much for the unique art you so generously sent back with me for the BrushMasters, we're due for an April meeting and I'll present them on your behalf. Fritz, I looked for you all weekend. Cool display by the Outlaw! Yeah, Mr. Johnson is an inspiration on many levels. Got to see Dave Shuten a couple of times, Newt wowed me, Tom Fritz, too! Nitrofc, thanks for starting this thread and for the great pics! How many HAMBers were slingin' paint? We shoulda had our own meet & greet. ToddJ, just added your name to the Chicago BrushMasters 2010 Invitational list. Nice meeting you!
