I been watching this thread, for awhile.
I love those "six in a row, can go motors"
When I first got my chevy, my thoughts were to put small block in it, but after fooling with it, I wouldnt dream of changing it, unless I just had to.
When the young guys, ask "when you going to put a small block in it", I usally tell them, that I was actually thinking of putting a briggs stratton in it!!LOL
Mine is a old splash oiling 235, that runs pretty good, but is nothing to look at, compared to these on here.
If I ever can find a 3x1 or 2x1 intake, that I can afford,(hint hint) I would love to dress it up, and make it look like it was fast anyway!!lol

    oooo, minty green. ;)
    Nice ride.
Was the oil filter already on the engine when you got it?
I wonder if someone's installed the jumper lines on top of the head, to help oil the rockers.

whats not traditional about it? it's a 53 straight 6 plymouth, wish more people would put some of these unusual motors in, would make the car shows a lot more interesting then row after row of identical bow ties, like the flatties too of course. :D

That's a Traditional Hot Rod in every sense of the word. Being a daily driver makes it more than that.........
    Keep on keepin' on.

    Let's see that motor again...................

I don't, but my boyfriend has one! I believe it's stock and it's manual. However, he has a 460 that he's getting ready to build and then switch them out.

Hudson 232 inch. Stock in my 51 coupe. Not enough HP for the interstates but smooth and torquey around town & country roads. COMPLETE idiot simple to work on except the valve adjustment.

Hi , I have a 1950 Chevy Bel Air with a 1957 Chevy 235 c.i. engine with duel carbs and headers. I have a 57 Chevy 355 rear which I get 15 mpg trip and I am presently putting a 1965 Chevy 3 speed overdrive which I hope to have complete by this weekend. I think I should get around 20 mpg when completed.

Yeah the oil filter, was already there, and it doesn't have the top end oiler. (haveta use that solid lifter noise, as my tunes,LOL
I am probably going to relocate, the filter to the firewall, if I ever can find 3x1or a 2x1 intake I can afford!!
If the lines are to short, to reach the firewall, I may just eliminate it all together.
I read that it don't really filter that much oil any.
    Thanks

Going to spend next winter putting together a "6" for my 28 Ford. Thinking about a 300ci Ford with 4 speed OD. 3:00 gear.

  26. Here's mine, built by Lynn Refior in Alamosa Colorado, powered by a 225 cu in slant six, and now cruisin the roads of New Zealand. Summers almost gone and this winters project is a rebuild with some good bits and triple Delorto sidedraughts. Should be good for around 250 HP, hope to scare some smallblocks at next years Nostalgia Drags at Meremere.:D
The Belvedere is a work in progress for my dearly beloved....also slant six, Kustom inspired build.

Guess you could say I like'em, I have'em in my bucket, my dragster and my daily. All slanted, to boot. Not in my bike though, I have a boxer there.

    See my sig links.

  28. What a horrible thing to say...I hope you don't talk like that in front of your poor little six-banger......

I've got 2, my 56/3 speed, and the 59 biscayne / powerglide. Both are stock. Man...That automatic sho is slo.....

I'm currently building a '30 model A coupe with a '66 Chevy 230 six and a powerglide. I was hesitant at first (I wanted to use my '48 flattie but it needs a total re-build $$$$) but now I've got the engine and trans mocked up, it looks killer!
