i agree here, if you run different role-out on the rear, it would be like turning the corner all the way home, i think it would smoke your differential if you run down the hiway with different size rear tires.
i carry a small/skinny tire with the same role-out as the rear tire. it,ll get me home ..

i have a space saver drilled for multi pattern, a plug kit and several cans of fix-a-flat. not just for me, but whoever i roll with. if one of us gets a flat, breaks down or has a problem, you just can't leave him there on the side of the road.
here's something to remember too. if you have mag wheels that take a shouldered nut and have a regular steel wheel as a spare, it's a good idea to carry regular lugnuts if you every plan on using the spare. i've heard of someone having to borrow a lugnut from each wheel on another car because they forgot to throw the correct ones in the trunk for the type of spare they had.

in the 53 i have a spare in the tire well,, the 28 not sure. Dont have the room and if it was hanging off the back I think it would spoil the look.
Fix a flat, tire plugs and a 12 volt air compressor or small air tank possibly
Credit card and the number to a good towing company (with a flat bed)

Two on the custom truck, one on the Nash Hot Rod, Green slime, spare tube in the goody box. That's the beauty of split rims, don't need a bead breaker, just an hour to do the job. Front view.jpg

right rear quarter view tin finished.jpg

If I use a spare off the rack, when it goes on it stays on, it's replacement would become the spare.
In 5 years, I've only had one flat. Nail puncture. Green slime brought it up long enough to get back home, but on a long trip the green slime would have only been a band-aid because the nail hole in the tube started to tear and eventually I would have had to use the spart tire. Consequently, because it made a real mess to clean up the tire, that was a bad idea and I would never use it again as primary, but will keep a can for absolute emergency, after the spares both go flat., and as silent rick says, to help out a friend in need :D

Go figure. I don't personally know anybody that dont have a spare for the 'look', some that just didn't incorporate in the build. More of a missed priority I would think, because a reversed space-saver with slots for mis-matched front/rear patterns will fit somewhere on any ride. . I do have a S10 pickup without a spare because somebodyp stole it and I never have replaced it but I never drive it anyhow. I guess that truck would be cl***ified as "use for emergencies only", or "loan out to a relative in need", or "drive it if for some wierd reason both jalopys are down? :D

AAA? Tow Truck? Will they meet me at the gas station if I make an appointment to pump my gas for me and wipe my **** after I use the ****per? Besides, I'll reserve my emergency tow clause for an actual emergency.
    Kind of self-sufficient that way...........

I have a matching wheel/tire for the '50 Burb. With the Vette rear, I can't mix sizes lest I burn up the posi.

when traveling, i carry two, but that's the nice thing about having a truck!! they're bigger than the fronts but smaller than the rears. so either way i'm fine.

I run bias ply, so an inner tube patch kit, a tire bar and a small cigarette lighter air compressor.

Do not mix tire sizes on rear axle if you have a No Spin or Posi setup.

I ALWAYS carry a spare! Never know which will need it, so I had an in between size of front 195 series, & 225 rear series, both radial 15 inch rims, in 300,000 miles, only had 1 rear go to pieces by the time I stopped, sure was a good feeling to be able to change it & proceed to next tire shop, 93 miles ahead!!--------------Don
