I need to bend the brake lever in my F1 to put the pedal in a better position. What is the proper procedure for this? I mean is it just as simple as heating the area I want to bend with a torch and then pulling it until it is where I need it? Pardon my ignorance, this is my first time through this. Thanks, CHAZ
If its forged, yep that'll work, if its cast, nope you will break it, or worse, you won't break it, and itll snap off in a panic stop. Cast and forged pedals dont look a lot different, so be sure its forged . if you grind on cast, the sparks are orangey red ,thats one way to tell. Im not sure what F1 pedals were.

Yep, I got some old pedals from a swap I was going to use. I bent one nicely. The second one got nice and cherry red and I tried to bend it. No chance. Thought I was going crazy for a minute. Then the penny dropped.
I don't get it? I need to build the floor around the pedal so that isn't a problem. Does anyone know if the F1 pedals are forged Thanks, CHAZ
i just bent mine last weekend, got it red hot and bent it to where it had to go. seemed to work ok. mike
I think the point here is some are forged and some are cast. Use Lowsquire's test to see what you have. Pete
