I always heard the early 4bbls referred to as either teapots or "that goddamed Holley piece of ****".

I have seen a two barrel tea pot on a 53 Merc flathead. The one pictured above is called a rear breather. Holley Tea Pot, AKA towering inferno. When they are right, they run very well.

I've got the Holley 1901 on my '53 Merc flathead. Many a person has referred to it as a towering inferno. I'd like to change carbs (not necessarily intakes, but not ruling that out totally either). Looking for some input. Intake is for a 4-bolt carb on the Merc whereas Ford intake is for a 3-bolt carb. What are my options?

I have one of these intakes but not the carb. I posted about this on anothe thead. I got this note from FLATROY soon after that.
Iv'e got one of those 4bolt manifolds on my modified 8Ba. I did a little mild porting on it, just cleaned it up. It's temporary untill I can finance fuel injection. I started with a 2GC and it worked great. I made a three inch riser with tapered holes to adapt a 386 cfm Rodchester 2brl to it and it really works great. About 130 hp to the rear wheels, and good gas milage.

Hope this helps I found one of these carbs on my fathers old Chevy 350.
