Was looking at a 57 Chev delivery today and it had a rear bench seat. Would that be a standard thing??? The view wouldnt be too good :)

If thats the red RHD one from VIC with the full Bel Air trim on the side it is has been made from a four door wagon. Good job but not the real thing.

If its the real thing it will have a D(6 cyl) or VD(8cyl) in front of the VIN numbers in the left hand door jamb. And on the cowl tag it will have 1271 as body style.

I also had a look at a 57 Sedan Delivery in QLD that was on a sedan floor pan and the guy reckon`s they came like this(****). This car could have a rear seat out of a sedan fitted.

All Sedan Deliveries had wagon floor pans and can be fitted with a wagon seat I know cause I did it this week. Mine was a bit harder as it has been mini tubbed and I had to shorten the seat to fit it.

    Chris.

  4. Rear seats were not an option in the sedan deliveries;in fact a lot of them came through with just a single bucket seat for the driver.Normally there is a plywood platform behind the driver. You can remove it and the sheet metal bracketing and install a seat from a 2 door station wagon(which was probably the case here).I did my 60 Chevy sedan delivery like that and it bolted right in.Hardest part was finding the seat as there weren't many 2 door wagons made either. And the body code should be 1271 as stated.
