should have taken pics before i started , bought it off local craigslist this thing was covered in about a 1/2 inch of greese and grime ! Whole lot of s****ing engine degreaser to get the heavy stuff off at the car wash , them some superclean and simple green , still wasnt happy so i took it to the local machine shop and had em hot tank it ! Them scuffed it up good with a red scotchbrite before paint ! After the bell was degreased found a 3 inch crack , v'd it good and tigged it up !

There's a Model A running around with the same attention to detail. It's got a tinted plexigl*** floor so everyone can see. Great looking rod.

I can relate.I spent many ,many hours sanding and prepping my 9" third member before painting it. But it looks so good, smooth gloss black against a chromed housing. Even chromed the u-joint grease shield. OCD is a good thing, right! :D That looks so right, keep it up, like that, and it all adds up to a great build, that stands out a**** the many.

That motor and ****** will look great together.

It is the attention to detail that sets a great car apart from the rest.

    Really looking good.

  23. Looks way good. Youll have plenty of time to polish if we get this stupid blizzard they are talking about.

Seems like everytime I take the time to prep and paint something, I either drop a wrench on it, or drop the part itself. Did anyone ever powder coat a trannny? It is less expensive, than one would think, and would stand up better to road debris. You would probably have to totally dis***emble it, for fear of baking and damaging seals and bearings.

Unbelievable paint on the shaft. I have to shorten mine (shaft that is) to 15 1/2 inches. Maybe I'll make a camel, non-filter, of course. Think I'll go have a smoke and think about it. Great idea, hillarious and very creative.

we were going to paint the shaft to look like it had twisted ends :D but decided that was a little too much.

I'm almosy embarrased after seeing the trans and such polished by the guy who started this thread. That T bird stuff looks great
