Not a good picture but, now I have a better idea of where I am going with this, I may be biased but I do like the short front door in comparison to the rear area .

Not a bad picture. And yeah with that back window post cut out your on your way. Have you already welded the rear doors shut? And have you decided on flush or recessed panels? I kinda like the smaller front doors it will give you the apearance of a larger cargo area. but keep in mind you will sit further back in the car when it is all done and with no rear windows it might challenge you while driving. Probably no worse than mine though. The doors on my 28 measure on the outside skin 35 inches. What are yours set at? On another note rod and custom this month (june) has an article about converting 32 ford sedans into sedan deliverys you might want to check it out they do a more perfect restoration style than what I've done. not discounting what I've done. But just another option for you to look at for styling. Keep me informed on your progress and take lots of pictures. I have cropped some of my pics so they are better for detail. I hope... Thanks...ghost

I print most of your pics for reference, we don't have a computer at the shop.
I have some better pictures I have to upload. What I did was pushed the rear doors back as far as I could to be able to but weld at least one side, and then filled the front door gap with some round bar and welded it up solid. My plan for the window area is to use the door post pieces to bridge the area between the 1/4 window and the rear door to make a continuous body line, and then weld in the filler panel (window opening cover) at the same depth as the body, if that makes any scene. As for the back door I will do the same as you but I am going to tackle the round top corners and a drip rail ( I read that article that's where I got the drip rail idea) it looks pretty cool.
I am having allot of fun with this project, I like the idea of no real rules to follow, and this site is fantastic, the technical information is amazing. thanks again.:)

Your doing a fantastic job, And having fun is all the better and the way you describe it makes perfect sense. I usually use all the extra parts on any chop jobs that I have done. I have even saved all the interior cut parts for the interior garnish moldings. And as they say. (I don't know who they are) but don't throw nuttin away until THE FAT LADY SINGS...ghost

Well I got a little bit done or in process of being done on the 28 delivery. The 9 inch axles have been redrilled, along with the brake drums to fit the 5 4 1/2 inch pattern I will be using. And I have got a litle media blasting done on mostly body parts and have been hammering on them the last few months. And there starting to come around to my way of thinking. And I have got all the front suspension parts purchased and painted ready for installation. The front will be a early ford style transverse front spring connected to a dropped 32 ford crossmember and a 4 inch dropped superbell axle, with hair pins. Once the front is squared and installed. I will pull the rear axle out clean, paint and install new seals, brakes, and gears then reinstall with wheels. And check ride height and shock lenghts and have a better idea of my stance with fenders. If I measured right it should sit low with plenty of fender and gound clearance. (CROSS MY FINGERS)

Hey Ghost! If the fenders drag on the tires, you can always take'em off.:D

Yep... Still messing with it, but in the last couple of months nothing heavy done to it. I have been hammering on the fenders and there starting to come around now. I know why most guys go fenderless, they can be a real test. It will be worth it to have them at least on this car. Good luck with your truck and your hot rod...ghost

Now keep in mind this is without fenders, and the completed car will have them. The rear of the car is dead on, where I want it. But the front is sitting a little high. I am going to replace the standard mr roadster spring for a posies reversed eye 2 inch drop spring. That along with the added weight when finished should get me there. And yes I had both the front and rear fenders on to check. After I replace the front spring I will mock up all the fenders and post the pictures to this thread. no I am not sure on the wheels maybe steel wheels, black tires, beauty ring, and small caps...ghost

I'm not a fan of the wire wheels but its not my car either, but it is looking good so far. Can't wait to see it with the fenders on.

That's what's nice about building a chevy. I can use the dreaded small block chevy and get away with it, without too much grief. But I am sure there are other options. I did build the car around a 400 small block and turbo 350 but just recently picked up a 4 speed and hurst comp shifter. Just maybe, it's not finished yet...ghost

Again keep in mind these wheels are for mock up only. And the color of this car will be dark green body, and black fenders. with steel wheels, small rings, and caps. If anyone is interested in photo shopping. That would be great. Cause I can't visualize wide whites or black walls and the colors all together...ghost
