A cherry 34 ford 2dr sedan original black paint and factory red pin strip.Flat head, 2x2, headers, ect.Sold for $100 back in 63 when I enlisted in the marine corps..Every time I see one now that one comes back as the one that got away!!
Speaking of dads. Mine sold his 1 owner '71 Barracuda Grand Coupe 383 4bbl auto w/drag pack in efforts to keep us going....about 1981 or 2. Lots of jobs lost when Reserve Mining shutdown, and the town quickly became half the population it was. There were quite a few rides gone that year, I'm sure.
1967 working at a gas station when I was in high school. I had my Model A with a SBC, so the neighborhood folks knew I was into old cars. This guy came in and gave me a '34 3 window that was an ex-drag car. Body, frame, Olds rear end, no fenders or hood or drivetrain, but, HEY, FREE! I kept it behind the gas station until the owner made me move it. I gave it to a friend, he kept it for a few weeks and he gave it to another guy...I'm sure it ended up in a dump within a few months.
This one Gone forever just after I took this. Mostly to satisfy the heartless ***** from hell I married. (young guys take note)
Not to rub salt in your wound, but got any other pics of yer truck? That thing looks perfect from that angle.
sold my 69 GTO Judge to a guy that knocked on my door and asked if it was for sale. sold it for $900.00 in 1980 or so. I saw it once again at the Turloc swap last year for $12,000.00 in much worse condition than when I sold it..
Yeah..... Sold this to my parents, good car and has been on the road for MANY years. The deal was X dollars and a 78 302 and C4, bog stock for an old project. All I ever saw (To date) was the 302. That was in 2000. Doc.
1951 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup. Traded it towards a paint job on a 1970 El Camino. Which I no longer have, either.
This monady I walked out of work for lunch only to realize my '87 regal had been stolen! I know its not exactly HAMB friendly, but I had a lot of time and money in it. The good news is it was recovered saturday missing the driver fender and the radio. I hate thief *******s! Im still in dis belief that my car was stolen for a fender.
'60 Ford 2dr post, bought in '66, s****ped in '69 for $0. '64 Comet 2dr post, bought in '68, sold in '70 for $125. '64 Buick Skylark 2dr hdtp in '70, gave to brother when I went in the Air Force in '71. '70 Plymouth Satellite convertible, bought in '71, sold in '73 for $1200. '69 Malibu bought in '73, sold in '78 for $800. '65 Mustang convertible 289 factory 4spd, bought in '73 for $50, rebuilt it, sold it in '82 for $1200. Okay, I'm over 'em. Almost.
I never saw the car, but my grandfather had a black '40 Ford Deluxe coupe that he put a J-2 Olds in out of a wrecked car, he put in a cam and aluminum flywheel, mated it to a Lasalle sideshift transmission. He worked in a chrome shop so everything was redone. Sold it in the early 60's for $450 bucks. The guy he sold it to floored it leaving a drive-in, spun around sideways and stalled it. He ended up putting a 283 and a powerglide in it. Man, if I couldn't have had the car, at least let me have that motor, lord.
The day our club garage burnt down. I lost a 39 Willys sedan that still had the factory pin stripe with a 396 4spd and Olds rear, a 3 year old 69 Kawasaki 500, a Honda trail 70 with my home made frame (I'm sure it was hot) and last but not least every tool to my name. All up in smoke with no insurance. It was not a pretty day.
The 1950 Chevy PU bought new for my grandfathers grocery store for deliveries. Retired as a fishing truck at our family cabin in Kansas. Sold at an estate auction in 1983 for 400.00. 100% original.
Don't be ridiculous...those are latex gloves that I use when I perform autopsys or when visitors want to know why Ford named one of their cars...the "Probe"...
