whats the best way.. to get it right the first time...

so far i have the p***enger door tacked on to the body and cowl.. but i cut a chunk out so the door would fit flush and .. im sure it tweaked a little.... there was no bracing inside..... and i have not seen any good pics of how its don the right way? im sure there are a few right ways though... thanks in advance jason

Sometimes it helps to look another uncut body, take some measurements etc. I went over to General Gows house and made some plywood templates to help put my coupe together.

Nosurf: how did you make out with your Coupe ?
    I've lost track.

  4. Welll, you probably should build the bracing for the body to hang from, first, since that's what the door hinges will have to bolt up to.

the way that i am doing it now is flush mounting the doors and tacking them to the body, i have the p***enger side tacked, after i got the drivers side done then i was going to brace up the inside and then set it on the frame and try to make a floor . the last guy messed it up bad......... the rear of the floor was off 3 inches from one side to the other.... then the body will be around 1/2 nice longer due to the doors being set in the body instead of overlapping in the rear... tons of work to do for sure....

try workin on a chev body! bracing we dont need no stinling bracing. SOORY for that.

  7. don't do too much at one time. get the inside of the body braced and the body trued up. get the doors working on the stock hinges. the do your channel and floor. after the body is strong again.... THEN think about doing your suicide doors

then i would think twice about suicide doors..i don't see how that would make an A coupe any better

the stock hinges are gone... or mutilated.. and as for the doors it is just the way i want them... . scene i cant afford a 32 frame, or the fine *** spindle mounts i want... at least ill get one of the 3.....

  9. well , what i said still applies....get the body squared up and braced with the doors fitting the holes. then have at the floor/channel and then suicide the doors
