Folks Of Interest Anyone live in Oxnard,Ventura,or nearby?

Just moved here... And havent seen much besides.... All the cars in Venice where I work!

I've seen lots of rods in Ventura...I believe there is a shop in Main St just east of old downtown....Lots of cool cars in that area...Check put Pierpont Bl around Seaward Ave on a friday night....Every time I stay up there I always see cars in that area....Or the old downtown area.....

 

i was born and raised (for a while) in ventura. all of southern california is "nearby" ventura or the oxnard area to some extent. you just need to venture out more if you want to see more.

There is always some car **** going on in that area. There is a cruise in some where in Camarillo and once a month in Santa Barbara. Dan Collins just hosted a Swap Meet. Car Show season just started lots of shows coming up. If you like to drink it up The Red Cove in Ventura can be a fun place to go hang out from time to time.

 

I dident make it to the swap.... I had to go back "home" to SF

 

Well lets see. As far as shops go, there is Matt Noble's Noble Fabrication and Dan Collins Old Gold shops are in Ventura and Working Cl*** is in Ventura too.
There is Back to the Beach and Primer Nats, 2 pretty great shows as well as all the dirt track, demo derby and figure 8 stuff out at Ventura raceway.
Tons of car people and car stuff to do out here.
When did you move down?

 

Ive been down here for a few months now! you might have seen my ladys cars driving around she has a chopped 52 chevy and a 46 chevy! Im still working on my 50 ford!

 

Too bad Zebo ran off to San Diego. Lot's of stuff happening around here with hot rods. I've been hanging around here for over 40 years, never had a shortage of hot rods.

 

Ya need to Venture Out of Oxnard !!!

Plenty of stuff around ... Never seen your Lady's Cars.

You may catch my 1930 Hemi Sports Coupe, My '55 Ford Chopped F-100, '55 Ford F-350 Flatbed, Orange '65 Chevy C-10..... Or maybe my Daughter in her Mild Custom '55 Ford 2dr Sedan.

But ya really wont see much in Oxnard, Thats a Low Rider/Gang Community ...

 

Are the Ventura Vintage Rods still around?
I used to be a member back in the early eighties. I miss that bunch.

My family still lives in Oxnard.

I venture out every workday into Venice! In Oxnard there are some nice 6banger Bombs and those guys are cool....

 

Oh yes, VVR is still around, several members are on this board. They have a really popular show every fall in the harbor area....good bunch of people.

 

hey man, welcome to the area. Theres a small car show in the beginning of may at the Camarillo airport thats pretty good for local people, I have my open house in Sept after the Primer Nats on Sunday, and I'll be doing the swap again in August. Lots of places that you might need up here like polishing, powdercoating, custom headers, etc etc....
