My cousin had & ran a "rail" back in the late 60's- early 70's w/ a stack injected, zoomie piped, AMC (yikes!) straight 6 in it!

I am just starting a straight 6 Chevy 250 with a powerglide in a front engine dragster, I will try to get some pictures posted soon. I am going to start with the powerglide and see how it goes but I have a turbo 350 just if it seems like it needs a little more out of the hole.

My brother built one a few years back, started out with a Kaiser flathead 4 on alchy punched 1/8" over and a 3spd from a '41 chevy, eventually upgraded to a Ford 300 6 with a 'glide. He had a lot of fun with it, but times change and he sold it a couple years back. Heard it was running around southern Indiana somewhere.
Good luck on the build! Always like to see early digger types!

    Jon,
with the right torque converter the 'glide should work best. The three speed will probably have too much torque multiplication out of the hole.

Ahh yes, the Six Session. Any discussion of six holers is incomplete without a mention of Kay Sissel. He is to six cylinders what TV Tom was to Buicks. His stuff was as clean and well engineered as Tony Nancy's cars.

When I was a young, broke father, Kay would stop work and explain what I needed to do to keep my ol' '53 Chevy alive.

He was a wonderful human being. It was my great honor to make his aquaintence.

And no discussion of the Ford 300 six is complete without mention of Akton Miller. Another funny, smart car guy.

Coolest one I ever saw was at Famoso, a Hudson Flathead FED the the guy made a dual plug head for and a dual distributor drive. Ran high 9's low 10's.

Here's one we put together maybe 20 years ago, only car I wished I'd kept. Had a 270 GMC with a powerglide, added a small horizontal radiator and electric water pump, and could make a p*** ,and drive it back as well...remember that Hudson rail, will look for photos.
