Well, it's officially mine & also officially my first real rod project. As you will see, I don't scare easily 1930 Chevy Coupe. Car was completely dis***embled years ago and stored in this guys lofts and tractor trailer bodies. Unfortunately, this was the ONLY car he wanted to part with. He had some good ones there too... 49 Chevy Sedan Delivery, nice all original(unrestored) 40 Chevy Sedan Delivery, a 37 Chevy sedan delivery, 3 37 Chevy 2dr sedans, a 37 & 38 Chevy coupe, 2 39 Chevy 2dr sedans, 39 Chevy coupe, very nice 40 Chevy coupe... Then the good stuff... A chopped 38 Chevy 2dr sedan, an all original 38 Chevy Convertible, another all original 37 Chevy convertible, a decent project 39 Buick Special convertible plus some late model stuff... Most of these are stored in old trailer bodies... Ok, back to the coupe. Car is 90% complete. Missing motor/trans(WGAF!?)seat,dash(maybe?)and steering column. No headlight bar or sidemount brace. Quarters have a small amount of rot at the bottom rear near the tailpan but are otherwise straight and solid. Decklid has seen better days but can be fixed. Doors are absolutely perfect. Roof is good, 3 out of 4 fenders are good, splash aprons & running boards are there and will need some work but are still decent. Front splash pan is very solid w/no rot but does have a few bangs in it. Very fixable. Original 30 frame is straight as an arrow and completely uncut. Original straight axle/parallel leafs and rear w/springs included. Car was converted to juice brakes at some point in its life.... Well, here's a couple of pics I took today. I will get more next week once everything is in one pile. First is of the 40 Chevy Delivery 30 Chevy roof & rear floor pan(to the left on the wall) Front splash pan Drivers front fender, running boards & splash aprons... And the frame... Well, that's it for now... Will be a neat project for sure but well within' my limits.
Yeah, I was able to get a shot of the 38 Convertible(it's stuffed in a trailer). The 37 is behind it. We had some 50 MPH wind yesterday so we didn't spend too much time outside I'lle snap some more pics next week. It definitely was GM heaven there
Hi, Nice find. Got an odd question for you. That VW beetle pedal car sitting atop it, is it a motorized pedal car or just pedals? Very interested in hearing this..... I know someone who has 500 of those.
This would be a trailer find? haha. good luck. post progress. expect it to be done by end of summer. haha
lol.... yeah, a trailer and loft find As far as the bug is concerned, I'm not sure but I will check. He is also into VW's and has a "few" of them too.
Man, another one of those "I'm gonna fix 'er up someday" guys with huge piles of cool stuff. At least you got one score out of him. Congtats!!
Congrat's on your "new" project!........who know's......now that you have a "in" with this guy, he may be more willing down the road, to part with a few more of his "gems" at least there not sitting outside, "rotting" away, or headed for the crusher!!...... Later....
