Gudday Hambsters......... Feels all dirty, dusty, greasy, floor covered with welding wire and rust scale around here..........just the way I like it. Got a '36 Chevy 1/2 Ton Pick-up that has been saved from a restorer and given me a deep hatred of riveted chassis on the way to becomming something of a traditional build Rod. All blood sweat and tears, late nights, skinned knuckles, a pissed off missus and a pile of parts I don't remember what they are, where they came from or where they're going to. Being built from whatever happens to be laying around the shed or fits the hole at the time. Don't hold your breath for "build updates" or "how to chop tops" Aussie style, 'cause it's a long haul and all being done for $1.25c. Here' a couple of pics of the Chev & the shed.......... http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm104/36chevy/IMG_0754.jpg http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm104/36chevy/jagfront011.jpg http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm104/36chevy/jagfront010.jpg Anyrate.......fire away.
And, gudday to you!! Here's a welcome from SW Nebraska....not the middle of nowhere, but I can see it from the kitchen window. Hmm, western part, eh? Near Perth? Went there for the America's Cup years ago. Folks were great!! Country was beautiful!! And the women.....oh, me!! Buy 'em a beer and Bob's your uncle!!
X38........nothin' against rivets, nothin more traditional than rivets. Problem is getting rid of 'em where you don't need them. Then again, the bloke that put 'em there would be now long gone and probably never imagined some Aussie grinding, drilling, punching and swearing the bastards out near on 80 years later. On the bright side........least I'm not restoring and trying to put the buggers back in. Oh yeah....there's a plan alright.........see what fits, see what works, see if I have one laying around, rebuild and re-fit. COST: ....... a few beers and a few more numbers worn off the tape measure. FlatHeadGuy...............yep, Gods country. The women have only gotten better looking over the years, and more of 'em. BTW, 'round here we say "Roberts ya Fathers brother." later......................Doc.
Doc welcome to the HAMB,your truck and your bar look killer,i am another aussie living in the states, send me some vegemite will ya!...good to have mate....hombres ruin.
Cheers for the howdy's from ya all. I'll find a day off somewhere to take a few pics. The jigga is upside down on the shed floor with drill and drift not too far from it. All stripped and ready to look at fitting the front and rear ends, make a xmember and box the rails. Gonna be alot of wire melting over the next couple of months.........especially with the missus crackin' the whip over her '71 Falcon 351 Sedan being rebuilt next to the Chev. Funny how the Chev is at the bare chassis stage, but all her ride has managed to achieve is a few 1/2 door skins welded in. I must keep getting distracted..........must be that old bar I built........
