VW's in the show?....That's the LEAST of the problems.....Oh, and comparing VWs with hondas and toyotas is like comparing apples and oranges.

I must say, along with the 20-30 nice cars, there were a lot of good PARTS in that parking lot.

Thats mine. Original Custom done in the late fifties. Repainted in 1980 by Rod Powel.

It also got a couple pics in the Goodguys Gazzette this month from last Nov GG's event in AZ but they put someone elses name and city in the caption.

There were a lot of real nice cars there and that is all I got on my camara! Sorry I can not get them posted right now. Some one will post more.

    Thanks for posting the pictures.

May be an idea to wait until the weekend is over to hear what is said by the organisers regarding some of the cars here. Seen a lot of pics of crap but they may not be representative.

Hey Miles, I noticed the mis-print in the Gazette pics of your car too!

I'm relieved to hear you say there were some nice cars there too. I last went in 2004 and 2005 and had a great time. Back then there were a few wierdo rat rods but it sure seems they are currently out weighing the quality cars now. I hope someone will put up some more pics to see what else was there.

Viva has steadily gone down hill since after the first 4or5.

The more "Organized" it gets, The more "TRENDY" the crowd gets just like with everything.

The car show went from a Cool Roll In & have a good time to an "Organized" PAY ME Shit Box Fest.

Sure, There area hand full of Real nice cars & a bunch of Cool cars, But it has been as the whole Hot Rod Community been infitrated by WannBe Shop'Hot Rod buliders, Cross Over "CAREY HART" wannabes & People who just have NO taste !!

And i really don't wanna comment on the Orca-Betty's, Taco-Billy Gang Bangers or Designer jeans wearing Posers ... Due to the Possibility of they may be Present here on the HAMB !

Unless there were two shows on the Orleans property and both charged $5 to get in, this WAS the official show. Had to get to work so I did not get to shoot many pics. I have no comment either way on the show. I know how much work and money it takes to put one of these on.

I will say this: with the way the economy is, and the way the weather was, I was pleasantly surprised to see that many cars and people at the show.

  22. This is some kind of Anti-Viva show, right? I find it hard to believe that the Shifters are hosting that rockabilly wrecking yard.

Axle, step in here and clarify, please.

I drove 7 hours to see the show. Didn't go to the wristband stuff.....just the car show. My wife and I were hesitant to drive all that way after all of the bitching that people do here on the HAMB about the show. We were glad we went. Everyone was super friendly and despite what everyone thinks there were a lot of cool cars. There were some cartoon cars but there were alot of nice cars. Most weren't finished and gasp they had water spots from the rain but they were cool works in progress.

After reading all of the posts here about the show, I'm glad most of you didn't come. Because there would have been a bunch of grumpy old men stomping around instead of friendly people who just wanted to see some cars. I thought that it would be unbearable there because of the "scenesters" but everyone was super cool. Everyone likes to shit on other peoples good times. Get over it.

My only complaint was that it was too crowded. You literally had to keep moving or you would get swallowed up. Some room to relax would have been nice.

    Here was some "shitty ratrods".
