I can't believe my parts sold for this much on Ebay

Thank you, Bruce. Tardel and I have had some conversations about the book's impact on the old-Ford parts pool, talk centered on the effects of unintended consequences! "What have we done?," Tardel asked at one point, a bit plaintively.

All Ford Parts, Bob Drake, Brookville, Joblot, Roy Nacewicz, Patrick's, a**** others, were direct beneficiaries of the book's message and their inclusion as parts sources, for which all but Patrick's paid nothing other than discounted prices; Patrick insisted on supplying the Offy heads and manifold and the Mallory ignition at no charge, perhaps seeing the viability of the book as a marketing tool well before we did. Our intent was to serve the reader/builder rather than the parts provider.

I do apologize to the old timers such as yourself who had been enjoying easily affordable old-Ford hot rods for many years until Tardel and I came along and created a heavy demand for original parts from a finite pool.

I'm beginning a new book that is part history and part how-to, so I'll give you a heads-up and suggest you rathole cast-iron Hemis, early "Nailheads", '50s Olds/Pontiac rearends, old 6-71 huffers, and early VW laminated front torsion bars. Don't say I didn't warn you!

It's a crazy roller coaster on the 'Bay sometimes. A little while back a couple of Eelco gas pedals went for over $400 ea. The cost trickled on a few more after ($100 plus) and now there back to $20 - $50.

Check the #'s on these Divco wheels...no bids yet but some serious asking money!

One of those Eelco pedals was mine. I seen the first one sell that had an extra piece bolted onto the top, and went out and got my NOS one right then and there and listed it within the hour...the same guys got on it and I think the same guy who bought the first one bought mine. I remember thinking he had almost 900.00 in two 30.00 gas pedals...he told me he bought it for a friend who couldn't bid, I shipped it to some office building.

I seen the Divco milk truck wheels an hour ago, crazy.
