Woke up this morning knowing that Austin is this weekend, but can make it this year. Sooooooo!!! I thought I would treat myself!! I've been wanting a wagon for quite awhile now and have had my eye on this one for about 2 months. Would love some input and ideas. 1966 Chevy Impala 396 big block, factory air, everything works, the fellow I got it from used it for a daily driver.

I like wagons and I like 66's. I have a 66 Biscayne, a 66 Bel air and a 66 Caprice. My opinion might be a little sided in favor of your new acquisition.

I'd do pretty much what the guy you bought it off of did.

I do plan on using it as a daily driver, but the first upgrade and most important, I'm not sure how to get!! I've got my alliance tag from when I joined, but I want to put that on my 36. Anyone know how you go about getting a duplicate for another car?

Can't go wrong there! Good score. I should have my 65 wagon back on
    the road next year.

  11. Have fun keeping the gas tank filled. Big block with the air blowin', probably 8-9 mpg.

If you get tired of it, I'd be a player.

That should be good for at least an extra 1-2 mpg.

Neat old car. Reminds me of a few my Mom drove when I was a kid. Minor stance adjustment and some new rolling stock would put you in the cool cruisers cl***. Have fun and keep us advised as you progress.

...nice wagon, I'd rather have the 283 glide myself, but put some twice pipes on it and a set of grey spoke Americans and you're good to go.

Just what I've been looking for. If you ever decide to let it go and Rich Venza p***es give me a shout. I've wanted a '65/'66 big block wagon forever. Only change I'd make is convert it to a 4 speed.
Art Pylor of Lansing, MI used to drag race a 427 4spd '66 Impala wagon (bought the car brand new equipt like that) and i've lusted after one ever since.
I've got all of the parts to make the 4spd conversion "in stock"
